Service Description
Pre-Care Instructions Avoid retinoids, AHAs, and BHAs for 5–7 days pre-treatment. Refrain from tanning or sun exposure for at least 2 weeks. Keep skin hydrated and free from heavy makeup on the day of treatment. Notify your practitioner of recent skincare procedures or medical conditions. Treatment Highlights The procedure uses a specialised device with a diamond-tipped applicator or fine crystals to exfoliate the skin, removing impurities and unclogging pores. It is customised to suit individual skin types and concerns, from light exfoliation for sensitive skin to deeper resurfacing for more pronounced issues. Post-treatment, soothing and hydrating products are applied to restore balance and enhance the skin’s glow. The treatment is gentle, painless, and requires no downtime. Aftercare Instructions Avoid retinoids and exfoliating products for 5–7 days. Apply SPF 30+ daily and minimise direct sun exposure for 1–2 weeks. Use gentle, hydrating products to maintain moisture. Avoid heat exposure (e.g., saunas or exercise) for 24–48 hours. Refrain from heavy makeup for at least 24 hours. Potential Side Effects Temporary redness or mild sensitivity. Slight dryness or flaking as the skin renews. Rarely, minor irritation for sensitive skin. These effects typically subside within 24–48 hours. Contraindications Microdermabrasion is unsuitable for: Active skin infections, cold sores, or open wounds. Recent chemical peels, laser treatments, or sunburn. Severe rosacea or highly reactive skin. Pregnancy if contraindicated products are used. Who Benefits from Microdermabrasion? Skin Types: Normal, combination, oily, and dry (with adjustments for sensitive skin). Concerns: Dullness, uneven texture, fine lines, mild scarring, enlarged pores, and uneven tone. Results Expect smoother, brighter skin immediately post-treatment. With regular sessions, microdermabrasion improves skin clarity, reduces fine lines and scarring, and enhances the effectiveness of skincare products.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation & booking policy Deposits A deposit is required to secure all appointments at NJK Derma. This deposit is non-refundable for cancellations or non-attendance. Cancellations & rescheduling Appointments may be cancelled or rescheduled without charge provided a minimum of 48 hours' notice is given. Cancellations or requests to reschedule made within 48 hours of the appointment time will result in the deposit being forfeited. Appointments may be moved once without penalty, provided the request is made at least 48 hours in advance. A second reschedule request will require a new deposit to be paid before the appointment is confirmed. Refunds No refunds are issued once a treatment has taken place. Should you have any concerns regarding your treatment, please contact Nicola directly at bookings@njkderma.com. Late arrivals Please aim to arrive on time for your appointment. Arrivals more than 10 minutes late may result in a reduced treatment time, with the full appointment fee remaining payable. Where late arrival prevents the treatment from being carried out safely or in full, the appointment may need to be rescheduled and the cancellation policy will apply. Consultation fee A consultation fee is payable at the time of booking. This fee is redeemable in full against your treatment programme. Consultation fees are non-refundable.
