The NJK Derma approach
The stress programme draws on the body's own capacity to downregulate — using slow, rhythmic, full-body massage to shift the nervous system from sympathetic dominance into the parasympathetic state where genuine rest and recovery become possible. The sensory environment is considered carefully: lighting, temperature, sound, and scent are all part of the therapeutic experience. This is not indulgence — it is clinical. The combination of skilled touch, a carefully curated sensory environment, and a bespoke essential oil blend creates measurable physiological change: cortisol reduces, serotonin and dopamine increase, and the body is given the conditions to begin unwinding what stress has built up.
What the journey looks like
Every stress programme begins with a consultation to understand the nature and history of the stress load, its physical presentation, and what the client is hoping to achieve. A programme of sessions is built from there — with the frequency and focus adapted to the individual. Homecare guidance — including breathwork, self-massage, and lifestyle adjustments — is built into the programme as an integral part of the approach, not an optional addition.
The blend — essential oils & their role
Every treatment uses a bespoke essential oil blend formulated specifically for this programme. Each oil is selected for its clinical relevance to the concern being addressed.
Lavender — the most researched oil for anxiety reduction and cortisol lowering. Deeply calming to the nervous system
Bergamot — uplifting and calming in equal measure. Measurably reduces anxiety and improves mood without sedation
Clary sage — deeply relaxing with a mild phytoestrogenic effect — particularly valuable where stress has a hormonal dimension. Reduces cortisol directly
Vetiver — earthy, deeply grounding, and exceptional for the kind of anxiety that manifests as mental noise and physical restlessness. Underused and highly effective
Roman chamomile — gentle anti-inflammatory and nervine. Calms a sensitised nervous system and reduces the physical tension that anxiety sustains
Blended into an olive, castor, and argan base at a carefully calibrated dilution. The blend is adapted to the individual client and the presentation of their stress — some benefit from a more grounding blend, others from something more gently uplifting.
